So I went and voted this morning and it wasn’t that bad. I went around 10:30 and it took all of 20 minutes total and it wouldn’t have been that if the election commission could figure out how to divide up the names so that one line didn’t have 50 people in it and the others had none. Don’t know where the long lines were but it wasn’t where I went. By the way … GO VOTE. I don’t care who for just go do it.

For a change, watching football is pretty fun again. The Fins are at .500 after beating the two teams that played for the AFC championship last year (Yes it is sort of sad that .500 is exciting) and Penn State is 6 and 0 and there is talk of having a shot at a National Title. That end of season game with Michigan State in Happy Valley could be mighty interesting. Yes I know it can all go down in flames in a couple of weeks but for right now it feels pretty good. Even United look like they are getting their act together in the other football.

38 – 13 … Are you freakin kidding me? So what, all of a sudden they decide they remember how to block, tackle and catch the damn ball? Seriously, as abysmal as the Fins looked the first two weeks they looked just as good this week. It wasn’t just the gadget plays either. (Although it was really cool to see the Patriot defenders totally confused) They totally dominated on both sides of the ball. Pennington was great and the receivers actually caught the ball when it was thrown to them. No stupid penalties to let drives continue after they stopped the Pats. Just sweet, especially against the Patriots. To hear their fans, boo their team, in their stadium because of a wooping laid on them by the Fins was sweet, just freakin sweet.

I learned two things this weekend about the NFL. One, my team, the Dolphins, are not very good. Two, neither are the Jets.♠

I’m not sure I like Mr McCain’s choice for VP but I ask myself this question. If he is elected, do I really want him dispatching her on a diplomatic mission to deal with the Syrians? At least Barack has been in the Senate. But then again she is number two and not the top dog. (Yea, I meant that)

You know, being a Dolphins fan just sunk to new lows for me. I had this feeling of optimism and that the Fins were on the right track. I could have swore yesterday I was watching last years team. It wasn’t that they lost, it was the way they lost. Mistakes, big plays, unable to run the ball or stop the run. All of it very reminiscent of last year. I just mutter and shake my head and walk away from the TV, settling in for another VERY long year.

The new Staind album (The Illusion Of Progress) is just phenomenal. Usually their albums have one or two songs I love but the rest is so so but this one is great from start to finish. Especially like track 1 This Is It, and Track 7 All I Want.

BTW, yes I know calling it an album dates me. 🙂

What is wrong with the world. I just read that the Supreme Court, the justice body that supposedly has the general populations’ best interest at heart, ruled that child rapist can not be put to death. Are you kidding me? Is there a worse crime? If anyone deserves it it would be that criminal element. Frankly I think any one that rapes anyone else should be given the death penalty. No I don’t mean the 18 year old kid that screws his 17 year old girlfriend. Have some freakin common sense about it. But the guy that drags some poor girl into the woods as she is jogging deserves to get the the chair.

Finally! No suspense. No snickers. No WTF are they doing. No bull shit. The Dolphins take a guy they hope will be a cornerstone of the offensive line for years to come. (As much as you can predict those things) They start in the right place instead of trying to make a splash with a reach. Well Tuna, you are 2 for 2. Keep it up.

The media wants us all to think the war in Iraq is all shit. Candidates for president are running on platforms that they will bring our troops home no matter what the cost. Maybe they should read more articles like this. Stake Through Their Hearts. The Iraqi’s are winning this war. They are fed up with the violence and oppression. No I don’t like war and I wish the world could find a way to coexist without all the strife and fighting and I want our troops to come home as soon as possible but I also think the media fear machine is out of hand.
