It isn’t very often that a company delivers on a promise but holy shit did Blizzard ever do it last week. WoLK is awesome. Bigger, badder and more than I ever expected.

If you haven’t played a Deathknight or been to the starting areas yet and don’t want to know anything about it quit reading.
The starting areas are just fantastic. I love the way they funnel people away from the starting areas by pushing the quests out farther in the land. Do a few quests and move on. Phenomenal execution by the developers. Not only that but a lot of the quests are very different and are downright fun. Yes there is the same kill x of these and gather n of those but there are also the ones like setting free the baby mammoths and getting to ride the mammoth to kill and stomp the boss. Just cool. Also cool is the flight path vehicles. Who knew that just flying from place to place could be cool but it is. So far I have ridden on the dragon and the airplane but how freakin awesome is that. Yes it is a little thing but it is just neat and shows Blizzard’s attention to detail.
Speaking of cool, the Deathknight is a freakin blast to play and the starting area and quests are beyond great. How neat is it to zone in after after creating your char and see the Lich King himself standing in front of you? I got a kick out of it. My wife was like, am I supposed to talk to him? Isn’t he going to kick my ass? Nope you talk to him and get your initial quest. Every quest is engaging and fun. Not once in a week have I felt like I was just grinding experience. The bombing quest on the dragon is a freakin blast as well as is the cannon one on the ship. The way they give you your mount was entertaining and novel. The icing on the cake though was the last battle when you leave the starting area. The plot twist was fantastic and I loved the lore tie in.
I bow at the feet of the Blizzard gods. Very well done.
