I’m going to go against my normal trend here and stick up for a spoiled athlete. I think the felony charge against Plaxico is overkill. The DA coming out and saying he absolutely wants jail time for him is grandstanding and says, Hey look at me, I’m prosecuting a high profile case. Look, was the guy stupid? Yea he was, but there really was no ill intent and although I don’t understand this whole thing, a lot of pro athletes feel they have to protect themselves. I guess I get that they are a target but I sort of feel that goes with the territory and you shouldn’t put yourself in those situations but at that age I did really dumb stuff too and wouldn’t have done what someone told me. Give the guy his fine, put him on probation and go about your way.
Not in my book. Listen, He was a good player that played through a great deal of pain but that doesn’t make him a hero. He was cheating on the woman he was cheating on his wife with. In my book that makes you a jerk.
In a word, bigger. Receivers, Corner, TE and NT are all big. I like what they did and until they (Parcells and company) prove the world wrong these guys can play. One observation though. Either Cameron Wake is a stud and a half or JT is headed back to Miami.
WHO CARES!!! So what if A-Rod juiced. So did everyone else. The pitchers throwing to him did. The fielders trying to catch the ball did. Sounds like a level playing field to me. I read this article about how Ruth did it on hot dogs and beer. Article What they fail to mention is half the guys throwing to him were also on hot dogs and beer. A lot of them had second jobs. Its all relative and I just don’t see the big deal.
Well my Fins took another step forward this week. I don’t mean the Defense playing lights out or the game that Camarillo had. No it was the way the team responded with the game on the line. Offense gets the ball with 11:10 left on the clock in the fourth quarter. The Dolphins are up by two and Denver has the momentum after just scoring a touchdown not to mention the 95 yard kick return. (Special teams need to get shored up) Pennington steps into the the huddle and tells HIS team they are about to put the game away. 80 yards, 15 plays and 8 minutes and 2 seconds later Pennington and the Dolphins had done just that. It has been a very long time since that has happened. It was very satisfying as a fan to see it…VERY satisfying. It was a small step but it felt REALLY good.
